Here in South Africa we call it “Jimmy Sauce”. Nothing compliments a good piece of steak like a tasty marinade or basting sauce.

This is one I have developed over the years for myself


1/2 cup ketchup

3 Tbs Worcestershire sauce

2 Tbs brown sugar

1 Tbs white vinegar

1 Tbs garlic salt

1 Tsp dried oregano

Salt and Pepper to taste


Mix all of the ingredients into a bowl and pour over the meat. Leave a little for basting when grilling. Try to do this at least 24 hours before you want to cook the meat.
